Leonardo DiCaprio (Cobb) – Inception dialogues in Hindi and English
Sabse khatarnaak keeda kaun sa hai? Ek bacteria? Ek virus? Ya atadiyon ka keeda? Ek idea! Khatarnaak, teji se failne wala kyunki ek baar ek idea dimak mein bas jaye toh ushe nikaalna namumkin ho jata hai. Ek idea jise puri tarah samjha gaya ho, parkha gaya ho, atak ke reh jata hai, dimak ke kisi kone mein.
What is the most resilient parasite? A bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient. Highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain, it’s almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed, fully understood, that sticks. Right in there somewhere.
Hum apko sikhaate hain ki kaise aap apne antarmann ko sabse saatir antarmann choro se bhi bacha sakte hain. (Saito- Lekin tumhi kyun?) Cobb-Kyunki main hi sabse saatir antarmann chor hun. Mujhe dimak ke gehraayion mein se raaz nikaalne ke saare ke saare tareeke aate hain.
We can train your subconscious to defend itself from even the most skilled extractor. (Saito-How can you do that?) Cobb-Because I am the most skilled extractor. I know how to search your mind and find your secrets. I know the tricks.
Koyi bhi idea simple nahi hota agar ushe kisi aur ke dimaak mein daalna ho.
No idea is simple when you need to plant it in somebody else’s mind.
Cobb’s dialogues about ideas:
Kehte hain ki insaan apne dimak ka sirf ek ansh istemaal karta hai aur wo bhi jaagte samay. Lekin jab hum sote hain, tab humara dimaak kuch bhi kar sakta hai.
They say we only use a fraction of our brain’s true potential. Now, that’s when we’re awake. When we’re asleep, our mind can do almost anything.
Sapno mein humara dimaak yahi kaam bina rukaawat ke karta hai aur hum apne duniya ka apne hisaab se nirmaad karte hain aur humara dimaak itni safayi se ye kaam karta hai ki humein khud ko iske baare mein pata nahi chalta. Aur isi nirmaad ke dauraan hum andar ghus sakte hain.
In a dream, our mind continuously does this. We create and perceive our world simultaneously. And our mind does this so well that we don’t even know it’s happening. That allows us to get right in the middle of that process.
Jab tak tum sapna dekhte ho sab kuch haeekat lagta hai, hai na? Lekin jaagne ke baad hi mehsoos hota hai ki kuch to galat tha. Waise ek baat batao, tumhe tumhaare kisi bhi sapne ki suruvaat yaad hai ya tumhe humesa lagta hai ki tum beech mein hi aake tapakti ho?
Well, dreams, they feel real while we’re in them, right? It’s only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange. Let me ask you a question. You never really remember the beginning of a dream, do you? You always wind up right in the middle of what’s going on.
Sapna sirf sapna nahi hota. Sapne mein bhi kaanch ke katne se sach mein dard hota hai.
It’s never just a dream, is it? And a face full of glass hurts like hell. When you’re in it, it feels real.
Ye yaad rakho tum sapno ki nagri banaati ho aur yaha target main hun. Mera dimak iss duniya mein rang bharta hai, tum mere antarmann se baat kar sakti ho, ye ek tareeka hai target se jaankaari nikalwaane ka. Antarmann ek surakshit jagah banaata hai jaise bank ki tizori ya ek jail, aisi jagah dekhte hi dimaak apne aap hi wo saare raaj waha rakhta hai jo woh safe rakhna chaahta hai.
Remember, you are the dreamer. You build this world. I am the subject. My mind populates it. You can literally talk to my subconscious. That’s one of the ways we extract information from the subject. By creating something secure, like a bank vault or a jail. The mind automatically fills it with information it’s trying to protect.
(Ariadne- Ye sab mujhe kyon dekh rahe hain?) Cobb-Kyonki ab mere antarmann ko shak ho raha hai ki koyi aur iss duniya ko bana raha hai. Tum jitna khilwaad karogi, utni jaldi mere khayal tumpar tut padenge. Wo jaan lete hain ki koyi ajnabi andar aa chuka hai. Jaise shareer mein infection ko maar kar bhagaya jata hai waise hi wo tut padenge. (Ariadne- Matlab ye ab humpar humla karenge?) Cobb-Nahi. Humpar nahi sirf tumpar.
(Ariadne- Why are they all looking at me?) Cobb-Because my subconscious feels that someone else is creating this world. The more you change things, the quicker the projections start to converge on you. They sense the foreign nature of the dreamer. They attack, like white blood cells fighting an infection. (Ariadne- What, they’re gonna attack us?) Cobb-No. Just you.
Iss bridge ko kahin dekha hai. Ye ek asli jagah hai na? (Ariadne- Haan college jaane ke liye main roz ise paar karti hun) Cobb-Kabhi bhi apni yaadon se sapne mat banana humesa apni kalpana ka istemal karna. (Ariadne- Par yaadon se hi toh prerna leni padegi na?) Cobb-Sirf details use karna, jaise bijli ka khamba ya STD booth, puri-ki-puri jagah kabhi nahi. (Ariadne- Kyun nahi?) Cobb-Kyonki agar sapne mein kisi jagah ko hubahu banaogi toh hakikat aur sapne mein fark bhool kar wahin fas jaaogi.
I know this bridge. This place is real, isn’t it? (Ariadne- Yeah, I cross it every day to get to the college.) Cobb-Never re-create places from your memory, Always imagine new places. (Ariadne- You draw from stuff you know, right?) Cobb-Only use details, A streetlamp or a phone booth. Never entire areas. (Ariadne- Why not?) Cobb-Building a dream from your memory is the easiest way to lose your grasp on what’s real and what is a dream.
Har baar positive jazbaat negitive jazbaat ko maat dete hain. Aur har insaan chahta hai ki uske riste kaayam rahen.
I think positive emotion trumps negative emotion every time. We all yearn for reconciliation, for catharsis.
(Yusuf- Sapne mein dimaak ki raftaar normal se 20 guna jyada hogi aur iss sapne mein agar ek aur sapna dala jaaye toh affect utna aur badhega.) Cobb-Ek hafta pehle level mein milega, dusre level mein 6 mahine aur teesre level mein… (Ariadne- 10 saal… Koyi ek hi sapne mein 10 saal kyon rehna chaahega?) (Yusuf- Sapna achha hua to kyon nahi.)
(Yusuf- Brain function in the dream will be about 20 times normal. And when you enter a dream within that dream, the effect is compounded.) Cobb-It’s a week, the first level down. Six months the second level down, and the third level… (Ariadne- That’s 10 years… Who’d wanna be stuck in a dream for 10 years?) (Yusuf- Depends on the dream.)
(Ariadne-Kya iss baar tumhe Mal ko rokne ki himmat hogi? Kyonki wo waha par jaroor aayegi.) Cobb-Mujhe pata hai wo kahan hogi. Aur Fischer uske saath hoga. (Ariadne-Tumhe kaise pata?) Cobb-Kyonki Mal chaahti hai ki main Fischer ko bachaane jaaun aur wo chaahti hai ki main usi ke saath wahin reh jaaun.
(Ariadne-Can I trust you to do what needs to happen here? Mal’s gonna be down there.) Cobb-I know where to find her. She’ll have Fischer. (Ariadne-How do you know?) Cobb-Because she wants me to come after him. She wants me back down there with her.
Cobb’s dialogues about Inception (Izaat):
Waise mere baare mein ek cheej jaan lena bahut zaroori hai. Izaat ke baare mein. Idea ek virus ki tarah hota hai. Khatarnaak, Aasani se failta hai aur sabse chhota beej bhi jald se jald ugg jata hai. Ye tumhe bana bhi sakta hai aur barbaad bhi kar sakta hai.
There’s something you should know about me. About inception. An idea is like a virus. Resilient. Highly contagious. And the smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you.
Izaat mumkin hai, ye mujhe isliye pata chala kyunki maine sabse pahle isse Mal par ajmaaya tha. Khud ki biwi par. (Ariadne-Kyun?) Cobb-Hum yaha kho chuke the. Mujhe pata tha ki baahar nikalna hoga par woh raaji nahi thi. Usne apne andar bahut gehraayiyon mein ek sach ko dafna diya tha. Wo jaanti thi ye ek sapna hai magar maanti nahi thi. Aur mujhe iss sach ka khulasa karna tha, toh main uss koshis mein lag gaya. Uske antarmann mein jhaakne ke baad wo suraksha kakchh mujhe mila aur uske andar ghus kar maine ek idea izaat kiya. Ek chota sa idea jo usse bata deta ki uski ye duniya asli nahi hai.
The reason I knew inception was possible because I did it to her first. I did it to my own wife. (Ariadne-Why?) Cobb-We were lost in here. I knew we needed to escape, but she wouldn’t accept it. She had locked something away, something deep inside. A truth that she had once known, but chose to forget. And she couldn’t break free. So I decided to search for it. I went deep into the recess of her mind and found that secret place. And I broke in and I planted an idea. A simple little idea that would change everything. That her world wasn’t real.
Tum ek train ke liye ruke ho. Ek train jo bahut dur le jayegi. Tumhe ummid hai ki train wahin jayegi jahan tumhe jana hai. Lekin pura yakeen nahi hai. Fir bhi fark nahi padta. Fark kyon nahi padta? (Mal-Kyonki hum saath honge.)
You’re waiting for a train. A train that’ll take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you. But you can’t know for sure. Yet it doesn’t matter. Now, tell me why. (Mal-Because you’ll be together!)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur) – Inception dialogues
Sapno ke duniya mein antarmann ka suraksha kavach kamjor ho jata hai. Aur apke khayalon ko churana aasaan hota hai. Ise antarman ki chori kehte hain.
In the dream state, your conscious defences are lowered and that makes your thoughts vulnerable to theft. It’s called extraction.
Traget ke dimak ko humesa pata hota hai ki idea kaha se izaat hua. Kisi mein idea izaat karna namumkin hai.
The subject’s mind can always trace the genesis of the idea. True inspiration’s impossible to fake.
Asli ki duniya mein 5 minute matlab sapno ki duniya mein ek ghanta.
Five minutes in the real world gives you an hour in the dream.
Wakt se pahle sapna sirf tabhi tutata hai jab sapne mein tumhari maut ho jaaye.
You can’t wake up from within the dream unless you die.
Ek tilissm. Ek chhoti si cheej jo wajandaar hai, jise tum apne paas rakhti ho, jiski jaankari kisi aur ko nahi honi chahiye. (Ariadne- Jaise ki ek coin?) Arthur-Nahi, usase bhi anokhi cheej, jaise ki ye nakli die. Tum ise chhu nahi sakti warna ye bematlab ho jayegi, kyonki sirf mujhe hi pata hai ki ye nakli die kaun si taraf jyada bhaari hai. Toh agar aisa tilissm tumhaare paas ho toh tum turant jaanogi ki yeh sapna tumhara hai kisi aur ka nahi.
A totem. You need a small object, potentially heavy. Something you can have on you that no one else knows. (Ariadne- Like a coin?) Arthur-No. It needs to be more unique than that. Like, this is a loaded die. I can’t let you touch it. That would defeat the purpose. See, only I know the balance and the weight of this particular loaded die. That way, when you look at your totem you know beyond a doubt that you’re not in someone else’s dream.
Other Inception dialogues
(Eams- Ye yahan par sirf sone aate hain?) Unknown- Nahi, Ye yahan jaagne aate hain janab. Ab sapna hi inki hakikat ban chuki hai. Toh kya sapna aur kya hakikat hum kaun hote hain kehne wale.
(Eams- They come here every day to sleep?) Unknown- No, They come to be woken up. The dream has become their reality. Who are you to say otherwise, sir?
Mal-Kya hakikat hai aur kya nahi tum nahi jaante. Toh chuno, iss sapne ko chuno. Mujhe chun lo.
Mal-You don’t believe in one reality anymore. So chose. Choose to be here. Choose me.
Mal-Tumhe yaad hai wo din jab tumne mera haath manga tha? (Cobb-Haan) Mal-Tumne kaha tumhara ek sapna tha ki hum budhapa saath mein dekhenge. (Cobb-Wo toh humne dekha tha. Yahin par. Lekin tumhe yaad nahi hai. Main aaj se jyada tumhe miss karta hun par humara wakt beet chuka hai aur mujhe tumhe jaane dena hoga, humesa humesa ke liye.)
Mal-You remember when you asked me to marry you? (Cobb-Yes!) Mal-You said you dreamt that we’d grow old together. (Cobb-But we did. We did. You don’t remember? I miss you more than I can bear, but we had our time together. And I have to let you go.)
